about 2024

Are music creators equipped with appropriate knowledge, skills and tools that support teamwork? Can cross-industry standards of modern creative cooperation be established and how should they function? An attempt to find answers to such questions is the aim of a day-long mentoring event announcing a series of following meetings and workshops organized as MUSIC LAB and featuring professionals of the worldwide music business and experts from industries with which it works jointly.

Demand for music in various branches of the creative industry has been rising significantly in recent years, opening new possibilities for generating profit, but also requiring music creators to cooperate in interdisciplinary projects with other creators. In addition to its well-established role as an autonomous source of entertainment, music currently fulfills complementary function in such fields as game development, film production, advertising, live events, social media, web3.0 and others.

Interdisciplinary projects require work in teams of creators and experts representing various disciplines, and work in teams requires modern teamwork skills based on understanding of the specifics and demands of various branches of the creative industry.Creators from different fields may encounter difficulties such as specialized procedures and work methods, characteristic language and professional nomenclature of specific environments, or diverse software including preferred communication tools.

The 2024 edition presents 8 discussion panels & master class with over 40 panelists representing fields such as songwriting, music production, film and game scoring, live music, publishing, streaming and web 3.0. The discussions will be focused on the issues and complexities of contemporary cooperation practices between diverse creative industries and creators. Invited guests are acclaimed and awarded practitioners able to share insights, give advice and warn against potential problems of the cooperative creative process.

The project is directed primarily to young music creators entering the labor market of the contemporary creative industry. The aim of the project is to to build relationships and form a community based on the values of creative teamwork. In order to establish a platform for communication between experts and the next generation of upcoming professionals the participants are encouraged to engage in discussions and ask questions. Additionally the participants will have the possibility to reach the panelists and moderators personally in the practical activity zones.
